While it might be a little bit expensive, the Uranus is a pretty nice product. It's got sleek looks, great eSATA speeds compared to a straight SATA setup and the internal drive is held in place well; while internal cabling is kept to a minimum.

VIZO Uranus was one of the easiest enclosures to use that I have come across in a long time. The product comes with excellent documentation and everything about the product from its packaging to the finish on the case screams professional.

The Vizo Uranus enclosure looks just like the Luxon Advanced with the only difference in overall looks being the label on the side. It is very well constructed, with the rounded corners and two tone design. Not just the very modern looks, but also the USB 2.0 performance is great as it takes second place in our benchmark charts. Everybody worried about the fan noise, let me rest your hearts as it is very quiet. It comes with everything you need, down to the eSATA PCI bracket.

In the past I have never worried about backing up my systems or having something that I can take anywhere I go. However, as I become more involved in different aspects of computing, I have found a need to save my data and be able to hook it up to any computer to access my work. The Vizo Uranus is a nice addition to my needs as it not only allows me to be more portable by using it as an external hard drive, but I can also back up my most treasured MP3s, documents and applications. I am impressed by the multiple colors to choose from and the fact that it is a one-touch backup for both the system and files. The fan can be a little loud at startup, but once it gets going, I have no issues. The weight of the product will be determined by the type of hard drive you store in it, otherwise it is light.

The Uranus URA-350SA by VIZO is an elegant way to add SATA-speed storage to your desktop. The aluminum enclosure is thick with a classy finish which really grabs your attention. And due to the enclosure being a solid piece of aluminum, it deals with heat from the hard drive very well. The small fan housed in the case certainly adds to the air flow of the enclosure which is essential when using any type of hard drive, but especially 3.5" drives.

The VIZO Uranus is an attractively priced 3.5” SATA enclosure that can be used to easily share a large amount of data between PCs and to backup a large amount of data for multiple computers. It is a very practical backup solution that proves to be a lot faster, and with a whole lot more data storage, than alternatives such as backing up data on USB jump drives or burning backup CDs or DVDs. If you can live with the size of 3.5” hard disks, then the Uranus is a great choice for a backup enclosure.

Overall, I thought the Vizo Uranus 3.5� SATA External HDD enclosure was indeed a simple solution to most backup needs and also comes in a well-designed package that I wouldn’t mind displaying on my computer desk. Also, the backup software that comes with it is easy to use and does the job.
Overall, I’d recommend this enclosure as a product that will satisfy your file backup needs and does it with class.
